Karen has worked in finance and operations for most of her adult life, supporting her career as a dancer and performing artist in the Bay Area. In 2012, she received her Certified Public Accountant license and has since been specializing in nonprofit finance with a special affection for arts administration. She has worked as an accountant, controller or finance director with such non-profit organizations as The Freight, BRAVA, Aurora Theater and Berkeley Ballet Theater and has now come full circle working as the Finance Director at Dance Brigade/Dance Mission Theater who she performed with for over 20 years.
As an artist she was blessed to work with a very diverse group of organizations and individuals such as Dance Brigade, Bandaloop, Make-A-Circus, CitiCentre Dance Theatre, Shakiri, Jose Navarette and Kim Epifano and credits this time for giving her a lifelong dedication to the arts and social justice.
