Train with one of Rio de Janeiro’s most celebrated samba artists! Alex Coutinho began his Carnaval journey in 2002 and has since become one of the most awarded passista directors and samba educators in Rio. As Artistic Director of G.R.E.S. Paraíso do Tuiuti, he prepares musas, develops elite passistas, and coaches performers for the world-famous Rio Carnaval.
With over 20 major Carnaval awards and more than two decades of experience, Alex has performed, taught, and led cultural exchanges across Brazil, Europe, Australia, North and South America. His acclaimed project, Aos Passos do Paraíso, has trained hundreds of dancers and become one of Rio’s most respected samba programs.
Known for his energy, technique, authenticity, and deep connection to samba culture, Alex’s classes offer a rare opportunity to learn true Samba no Pé directly from a master of the art form. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced performer, expect world-class training, cultural knowledge, and the unmistakable swing of Rio Carnaval.
