Based on the life and work of French sculptor Camille Claudel, Unfinished Workis an impressionist portrait of this brilliant and troubled artist told through People’s Circus Theatre’s signature blend of circus, dance, and physical theater.

Six dance styles. A plethora of emotions induced by the advent of Spring. A variety of movements. But one message: Oneness! Beyond differences and beyond boundaries! This production is a powerful dance-theater collaboration with a stunning ensemble of six Indian classical dance forms: Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Mohiniattam, and Odissi.

A powerful, driving, and charged duet that seeks to understand the politics of the Black body in a contemporary western society. Through striking imagery, raw physicality and emotional intensity the performance challenges the historical racial projections of blackness – its crudeness, threat, sexuality, rage and immorality – unveiling its power, grace, sensuality, tenderness, intelligence and love.
