[Thawra is Arabic for Revolución] In its 11th year around the sun, also an election year, the Festival of Latin American Contemporary Choreographers (FLACC) is focusing on “Revolution”, an uprising with a transnational solidarity approach to liberation for Palestine. FLACC is highlighting anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist artists rooted in the philosophies of the Zapatista movement and artists directly involved in social justice through their work. From Contemporary Dance to Dabke, Son Jarocho to Poetry, Visual Art to Queer Opera, our featured artists include: Taja Will, Leila Mire, Nefertiti Altan, Davalos Dance Company, j Ome Maztl, Al-Juthoor Dabke Dancers, Mattheus Coura, Piñata Dance Collective, AntiFaSon, Camellia Boutros and Evelyn Donaji, Arnoldo Garcia and Visual Artist, Mary Hazboun.
