Workshop Description

This session builds on developing fundamental techniques for students who have basic knowledge of drum stroke and stance. Dynamics (loud and soft notes), kata (form) and ji-uchi (backbeat) will be covered.

Artist Bio

Bruce “Mui” Ghent has 30+ years of training as a performing artist. He has worked with preeminent choreographers such as Kennedy Center Honoree, Bill T. Jones, and NEA Heritage Fellow, Grandmaster Seiichi Tanaka. He also has 20+ years of experience as an arts educator with extensive residencies internationally.
