Flamenco is an art form that evolved from the common folk from the region of Andalucía (southern Spain) as an expression of the people (el pueblo). It developed in peoples homes, in celebrations, at the work place, on the streets and in the fields. Today while flamenco has a big representation in theatres all over the world it still is a big part of daily life as a celebratory and every day expression. In Spain it is not uncommon to see people in a plaza or on the street dancing, singing and playing the guitar or even dancing to a recorded tune. This workshop will focus on the celebratory and fun expression of flamenco. Simple routines will be taught to recorded fun tunes. You may take one or both classes. This is La Tania’s first workshop since the Covid epidemic started and she can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Level: Everyone welcome (must have dance experience of some kind)
