Dance Brigade is pleased to announce its latest evening-length dance work, Butterfly Effect, which takes on the climate crisis. Created and directed by Krissy Keefer, the title is a nod to the idea that small actions can have far-reaching consequences. Featuring a live musical score by Bruce Ghent, Butterfly Effect pays tribute to the devastatingly large number of activists that have been silenced, often brutally, because they have spoken truth to power.
With eight dancers and six drummers, this large scale project will wind through the studios inside Dance Mission Theater; the audience immersed in three distinct worlds, and met with dance, percussion, light, video, poetry, and unapologetic social commentary.
“The role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible.” – Toni Cade Bambara
“Krissy Keefer, Dance Brigade, and Dance Mission have give the world many gifts; performance, protests, visions, and talent.” – Culture Vulture
